After a summer that saw us co-host a stage at Lovebox, bring Yolanda Be Cool to London for the first ever time and drag Tek-One up to Nottingham to blow minds, Fuck the White Board returns to the Macbeth with a celebration of forward thinking dance music.

Our headline artists are two of the most mysterious and illusive artists currently streaming from the blogosphere. Hype Williams and Vondelpark prefer to shy away from the spotlight while creating some of the most forward thinking and exciting music coming out of the city of London. Both operating in similar relms, experimenting with loops and samples while colliding the old and the new to produce blissful modern dance music.

Support comes from ex-Shit Disco project Age of Consent, with DJ sets from FTWB favorites Visions of Trees and Night Slug's Jam City.

HYPE WILLIAMS

“DD: Can you describe your sound?

Hype Williams: Not really...”
[Dazed Digital]

“Hype Williams, like the best music this year – whether by Drake or Ariel Pink, Caribou or Washed Out – take elements from the past and turn them into something new. You've heard that said of many artists before, right? This time it's true.”
[Guardian New Band Of The Day]

VONDELPARK

“Vondelpark often sounds stuck in a past, scoring songs from venn ellipses ridden by the sort of orbiting 2-step shuffle that should be soundtracking fights in regional cab queues.”
[Vice]

“London’s mysterious Vondelpark fall through blue, and the flocks, as at ease as rain, ‘California Analog Dream’ rubbed with morose machinery, XX-isms and a 2-step pulse with an almost ironic kick.”
[No Pain In Pop]

AGE OF CONSENT

“Dark yet melancholic electro-pop about escape, freedom, and reinvention.”
[Freak Deluxe]

“The duo emerge from the chaos of Shitdisco's frantic party tunes and into the arena of Heaven 17 and Depeche Mode's slow & ominously atmospheric dance.”
[Illegal Tender]

JAM CITY

“We’re not sure there’s any producer or DJ in the UK right now who is so skillfully balancing dance floor ruffage and emotional delicacy.”
[FACT]

“Bold, experimental dance music.”
[Faux]

VISIONS OF TREES dj

“...abstract electronics and woozy vocals... ambient dream pop.”
[Clash]

“We don't care who Visions of Trees are because they make lovely music.”
[Neu]

and residents RUSS TANNEN and AL HARLEY.

Don't label it (Chill Wave, Witch House, Future Garage? who cares) just enjoy it.

We'll be there taking white board snaps, so start thinking of something 'witty' to write...
